Before You Read My Story
If you’re here, you’ll probably learn a lot about me through my writing.
But before you do, here are a few things many people don’t know…
• I love animals. All of them. No matter the species or questionable life choices, I probably want to be their friend.
• Black is basically my entire color palette. Bonus points if polka dots are involved.
• My natural habitat is the Arctic after dark. I love the cold, dark, and dimly lit spaces. Heat and bright lights are my nemesis. If you’re comfortable in my house, I’m probably sweating.
• I work in behavioral health, which will probably make perfect sense once you read enough of my writing.
• I’m a fixer. Tell me there’s a problem and my brain immediately starts looking for a solution... even if you weren’t asking me to solve it.
• I don’t just like things...I LOVE them. I hyperfocus. Once an idea gets into my head, it becomes a whole thing.
• Writing has always been my language. It helps me express the things I don’t know how to say, or sometimes just don’t want to say.
• Words don’t hurt me the way most people expect them to. I’ve learned that people often speak from their own pain, and not everything thrown at me belongs to me.
• When life becomes overwhelming, I throw myself into something productive. Cleaning. Organizing. Planning. Creating. It’s how I turn chaos into something I can control.
• This one surprises most people: I don’t have an internal monologue. My mind isn’t filled with a constant voice or conversations. It’s quiet... almost like sitting in darkness without the noise.
• I’m a walking contradiction. I love deeply but keep walls up. I crave peace but somehow thrive in chaos. My mind is quiet, yet I overthink everything. Fiercely independent, yet somehow still the person everyone comes to when life falls apart.
• And finally... my intuition is unbelievably strong. I can’t explain it. I don’t always know why I know something...I just know.
And more often than not...
it ends up being right.
